Grand Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve

What a drive or ride on Labor Day. But the view of the large dunes of sand and the mountains was worth it and also the stamp in NPS book another to the collection. Who says I do not go any where now days. The picture above was not taken on that day and not even by me since there is no snow yet on the mountains.

Welcome to the the Family Lizzy

After nearly a month without a cat I went to the Humane Society and fell in love with this cute and adorable two month kitten. She loves to play, cuddle ,sleep and explore. She did developed a cold and suffered with sneezing , a visit to Animal Emergency Hospital which disagreed with her but with time , medication and love she is recovering and becoming quite to funny little kitty to watch as she explores everything including the inside of the bathtub. At the Humane Society they gave her the name Minnie and it just did not fit her so after a day of tossing around different names I finally choose Lizzy which fits her very well. So the adventures of Lizzy the kitty begin.

Wedding in the Tetons

This was taken at the wedding site after most of the clouds lifted the one above was taken at Jackson Lodge where the luncheon was at.

In August I had the privilege of attending two friends wedding that was held at Grand Tetons National Park. After a nearly ten hour drive from Colorado Springs to north west Wyoming where I stayed the night just outside the park at a Hostel a different experience from staying in a hotel and definitely cheaper. The wedding was on Saturday I got up early and had breakfast, it was a very chilly morning and drove around the park and visited the visitor center before the wedding. They picked the perfect spot in the park for the wedding and then lunch at the lodge another breath taking spot and great for moose and elk spotting. It was a great to catch up with some rangers and families I had worked and known while working at Oregon Caves and to meet some of the current rangers who are working there and also to meet Derek's and Rachel's families and friends. I enjoyed both wedding and the park in fact I want to spend more time at Grand Teton National Park.

My First Book Blog

So sorry it has taken awhile to post this book blog. I currently reading the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini I have finished Eragon and reading Elder at the moment. This young writer has created a story with more color and creativity that I have not seen in several years. I am looking forward to continuing on with this story and can not wait to see how it ends.
